What you might not know about Caz tri
I thought I’d share some facts about Caz Tri that maybe you didn’t know or perhaps forgot.
The 2009 Caz Tri saw 450 registrants over 2 triathlon distances with aquabike and relay opportunities as well. 2009 also saw a field of 20% first time triathletes and a field that was 40% women overall.
Registration for this year’s 2010 Caz Tri is on pace to exceed 500 registrants over the same distances and events as last year. In fact, the Intermediate distance registration has already exceeded 2009 totals ensuring its most competitive field to date.
This year The Caz Tri Intermediate distance race presents a unique opportunity to test yourself 5 weeks out from the Syracuse 70.3 on a course suitably comparable to, as well as geographically close to the 70.3 course. And if you have some out of towners joining you in that training / racing opportunity, they can stay at Caz College with rooms starting at $50 per night.
Also, this year the sprint distance will celebrate its 10th Anniversary with an Open Wave for any athlete (M or F) who elects to compete with & against the more competitive triathletes in the field.
In 2010, notably, Caz Tri’s historic charitable contributions to date will exceed $20,000. Our past charitable efforts have helped to fund everything from art programs in the City of Syracuse to local high school track teams entry & participation in prestigious meets. That is of course in addition to all the internal club programs Caz Tri has funded. Thanks to all the racers & volunteers of the club who’ve helped make that possible. Hopefully you will again, or for the first time, join us at The 10 Annual Cazenovia Triathlon.
BTW, if you are interested in becoming part of the Cazenovia Triathlon Race Committee Next meeting will be Monday 19 July 2010 time and place TBA.
