Volunteer incentive program (new)
Kelly Covert is our new Director and the volunteer coordinator for the club events. She has come up with a great volunteer incentive program so please take a look and we would like to here from you at

CNY Triathlon Club Volunteer Incentive Program

Volunteers are essential to the running of the CNY Triathlon Club, especially in regards to the Jamesville Beach Series and the annual Cazenovia Triathlon. As an encouragement to volunteer to keep the club running smoothly, we have developed a points incentive program. To earn points you must simply volunteer at a CNY Tri event. As you accumulate points you can cash them in for some sweet CNY Tri gear.

How to earn points:

Volunteer at Jamesville Beach Tri Series:

1st time earns 1 point

2nd time earns 2 points

3rd time earns 3 points

Volunteer at Cazenovia Triathlon:

Earn 8 points by volunteering at any position.

Emergency volunteers:

Earn 5 points by stepping in to volunteer even if you are not scheduled to do so.

Race with a first-timer:

Earn 2 points by racing a Wednesday night tri with a first-timer who might be a bit nervous.

To receive credit for points you must sign the volunteer sheet available at the check-in table at Jamesville. Rich O’Neil will keep a list of all Caz Tri volunteers.

10 points: pair of running socks

20 points: CNY Tri Club visor

30 points: CNY Tri technical tee

50 points: CNY Tri Embroidered Fleece

You may cash in your points whenever you choose, or save them from year to year.

There will also be an annual prize for the member with the most volunteer points.

“Don’t forget to sign up to volunteer at Jamesville Beach. You will be rewarded!! We ask that everyone volunteer at least once. Just click on this link, pick your position and date, then email Kelly Covert at, letting me know when and where you would like to volunteer. This club is a volunteer organization, please pitch in so we can all enjoy a great summer series at Jamesville Beach.”

Programs the club is working on
” Women is Training” just for our female members to take place at Oneida Shores on Wednesday nite at 6:00PM

In closing, the CNY Triathlon Club is a volunteer organization operated and led by members of the club and supported by its members and sponsors.
CNY Triathlon Club was formed to bring together people in the Central New York area to strengthen and advance the sport of triathlon; promote the educational pursuit of the triathlon and general physical fitness; represent the sport of triathlon within the community and publish and disseminate information related to the sport of triathlon.

Our mission is to reach beyond ourselves and encourage others by sharing our experiences.
