Pending Level 2 USA Triathlon Coach certification, Exercise Physiologist, NSCA (Strength and Conditioning Certification).

Degrees in Sports Management and Exercise Science. His 17+ years as an Exercise Physiologist and 20+ years as a Strength and Conditioning Coach have shaped his knowledge. Taught at the collegiate level, lectured on national circuits and authored in journals and textbooks

Designed programs for individuals of all levels, including those having progressed to #1 national rankings, world rankings and professional competition.

I have been involved in athletics my entire life, but involvement in the sport of triathlon came about after having been sidelined from physical activity for 2.5 years due to a rare health condition. After years of medications and a gain of 40 lbs, I used the sport to transform not only my body, but my identity. I am incredibly passionate about what the sport of triathlon can do for the individual psyche and find the process of exercise prescription to be the critical difference in participating and competing. I believe working with a coach removes the emotion from exercise prescription thereby reducing the likelihood of overuse injuries resulting from misguided training protocol.

Provides On-Line-Coaching Completely customized triathlon program, based on variables that you have the capability to track (rate of perceived exertion, heart rate, zone level (per lactate threshold), etc…); Personalized Exercise Prescriptionguided exercise prescription based on either video analysis, photo analysis or hands on analysis; Skill Analysis – video review of swim bike or run; and Chronic Pain Management Programming – guided exercise and flexibility programming based on video, photo or hands on analysis.

Helene Roth Schmid

“You can do more than you think you can.” That’s Helene’s mantra, and with her as your coach, you’ll reach that next goal. Whether it’s Iron Girl or Iron Man, or any endurance event in between, Helene can train you to accomplish it. How can she be so certain? Because chances are, Helene’s raced – and most likely placed – in the event you’re training for. From 1999 to 2009, Helene was a competitive, fully sponsored triathlete. Helene also raced Nationals at both the Olympic and Half Iron Distances. Today, Helene remains competitive on the bike, racing road, cyclocross and epic mountain bike races, like the Leadville Trail 100 she has on her racing calendar this year.

Helene has a master’s degree in physical education and has coached high school track and swimming. She spent 11 years coaching cyclists, runners, and triathletes for CityCoach in New York City before moving to Syracuse in 2011 to start, what else, a coaching company! Helene is a co-founder of Véloved Multisport, where she empowers her athletes to race with more heart by coaching the way she would want to be coached. With Helene, you’ll always get plenty of personal attention and a truly custom – not cookie cutter – training plan. To Helene, coaching is a balance between art and science, gained through continuing education and experience. She certainly has a good amount of both, and she’d love to put her expertise to work for you.
