After spin sessions finish up in April, Mondays at 6:00 pm, the CNY Tri Club offers Tempo paced Track Workouts @ the outdoor track at Manley Field house. Bring a watch to record your split times. You should also know your most recent 5 km or 10 km race time to calculate your training pace.
Fleet Feet offers a session of Advanced 5K Training Program on Mondays in the Spring then again in the Summer @ Long Branch Park. They also offers a No Boundaries Begin to Run Program on Tuesdays @ Long Branch Park in the Spring then another in the Summer. And on Wednesday Night and Saturday mornings the Fleet Feet Begin to Tri Program hold group workouts. Keep up to date with the Fleet Feet Syracuse’s newsletter.
On Tuesdays in mid June thru Mid July, Syracuse Track Club offers a training 5k and 10k from Nottingham track on a somewhat hilly course along the roads.
On Wednesday mornings, the Syracuse Chargers hold group trail runs @ Highland Forest in June through August.
On Wednesday evenings, the Chargers also hold a kids run, a timed 5k and a 10k road run starting at 6:30pm from mid June through mid August at Oneida Shores. The final night is a informal team competition, “War at the Shores”.
On Wednesday evenings and now Saturdays in the winter months, Kitty Hoynes puts on a Run Club with a different route every week starting at 6pm. Welcoming a wide range of experience levels to go out for an optional distances, all meeting back at the pub for some complimentary foods and a couple exclusive run club drink specials.
On Thursdays in the winter there is hour to 75 minute workout starting from the Change of Pace Restaurant on Grant Blvd. on the north side of the city at 6pm. This workout transitions as soon as the weather permits to the Green Lakes hilly Fartlek workouts starting from the picnic area parking lot up by the Frisbee Golf Course.
On Thursday evenings, there is another Kids run put on by the Chargers and 2 mile, 5k, and 8k run along the Onondaga Lake Trail path starting by the Yacht Club just down from the Salt museum at 6:30pm. It runs from June through August.
On the 6 consecutive Saturdays leading up to the early May Mountain Goat Race, the Syracuse Track Club conducts with Fleet Feet a Training Run Series that has hundreds arriving at the MOST each week.
On Sundays in the winter, from November through February, Fleet Feet holds the Cold Feet Training Runs from their store at 8:30am.
Then again on Sundays in the fall, from mid-July through early October, Fleet Feet holds twelve-week program
to prepare for a fall marathon called Hot Feet. The runs take place at 7:30 AM from the Boat House at Green Lakes State Park with water stops along the course for everyone to refuel.
